There's a thin line between fashionable and warm...

NYC is cold as hell right now. I mean, it is winter after all and being that this is my first blog post this subject is most fitting. Now, There comes a time every winter where we must make a conscious decision to be fashionable or warm. Y’all know… That point where you must decide between that fly ass coat that’s not too warm or that warm coat thats not too fly. It’s a heart breaking dilemma. What choice do you make when this happens? I know, I know… Most of you are probably talking to the screen like “The warm coat stupid!” It is cold out so I totally agree, but what if you really need to step out “spicy”? Sweatsuits are dope, but sometimes they’re just too casual. You can layer, but when you get inside you’re hot and uncomfortable. Those long johns are bunching up in your special places and you're walking down the street feeling like Ralphy’s little brother in “A Christmas Story”. It’s like you can’t win… or can you?Now it may sound funny, but I start many of my days believing that I just may bump into Diddy. I live in NYC and rubbing elbows with the big league players isn’t uncommon. You can’t be looking out of pocket… At-least you shouldn’t be, but that’s another blog post. Anyway, all I needed was a simple alternative to the bulk of winter layering. Something not too casual, but good enough that if I needed to head out afterwork I’d be ready. Something effortless as a T-shirt, but still appear clean as a freshly ironed button up. That’s when my love for turtlenecks developed.
Now there are all kinds of turtlenecks out here. Turtleneck sweaters, thick knits, light knits, heavy cable knits to name a few, but my favorite has to be the Uniqlo turtleneck shirt. This thick and soft shirt material keeps you warm as any sweater, with out the bulking. Pair it with almost any blazer for optional layering along with that statement winter coat thats not too warm and take over the Mother F@$*&^% world!!! Blazers are great layering substitutes. It can easily be worn or taken off to fit your level of comfort. Not to mention this look is Classic and damn near timeless. It can be sported by nearly everyone and can easily become your go to look every time you’re worried about looking great and needing to be warm. Put away the knit skully and add a statement hat to really spice up the fit and achieve TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION! Look out for my next blogpost. Stay Flee!
